Good news for Catholics who have iPhones! You can use your mobile device as a way to identify your Catholic faith in case of emergency. You might call this a Catholic life hack!
We found this useful infographic through our friend Ryan Scheel of uCatholic and Catholic Memes. It’s so simple, yet we never knew this function was available. Some of our Catholic jewelry, typically four way medals, come with the following engraved on one side: “I am a Catholic, please contact a Catholic priest”. People who wear these medallions can comfortably assume that if their life was threatened and nobody was around, the doctors or emergency medical staff would see the medallion and contact a priest. The trouble is that not everybody has a piece of Catholic jewelry like this.
Whether it’s a good thing or not, we all seem to have our mobile devices on us 24/7 now. This is a really simple way to let others know you want a Catholic priest contacted in case of emergency. It’s also a great way to store identifying information about yourself, in case other personal identification cannot be located. The infographic below lays out the simple steps, so get on it!
