We never fail to find inspiring messages on Pinterest each time we log in. People always talk about how much hatred, evil, and negativity they see on the internet, and we can’t say that all three don’t exist. However, we’ve found that when you’re looking in the right places, you can discover some really nice stuff too! We try to focus on the positives in life here at The Catholic Gift Shop, like the image below we found on Pinterest.
“The devil knows your name, but calls you by your sin. God knows your sin, but calls you by your name.”
– Ricardo Sanchez
Sanchez is a Christian musician, who until today we’ve never heard of before (sorry Ricardo, our bad man!). This quote blew us away though and we will be listening to some of his music in the near future. Check out his website here: http://ricardomusic.com/
How does this quote make you feel? We’ll tell you how it makes us feel. We feel extreme gratitude to God. We cannot hide our sins from God, he sees them. We constantly disappoint him with our habitual sinning day in and day out. However, he continues to invite us to repent and join him. We have the opportunity to confess our sins, learn from our mistakes, and continue striving for sainthood! We all might not make it there, but the opportunity to live a life for God is provided to us every day.
To the devil, we are just sins. He knows who we are too, but couldn’t care less. As long as we’re straying from God, the devil is content. He knows us as the foul mouth, the drug abuser, the driver with road rage, the gossiper, etc.
Bottom line here: Ricardo reminded us that God is good today. Thanks Ricardo!
