Keeping up with the Month of the Rosary, we have another rosary themed idea to share that we think you’ll love! This is not super intensive, it probably could be done by a child with some supervision. It could make a fun and religious afternoon snack or could be a perfect appetizer plate at a Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation party.
We found the instructions for this idea at CathFamily, who we’ll make sure to link to below. They share how to create rosary themed fruit skewers! Here’s a picture from their site below.
They look super cute and include a lot of our favorite fruits! You’ll need half a watermelon, 2 bananas, 30 grapes, 10 strawberries, and 10 skewers to make 10 of these awesome rosary themed fruit skewers. Obviously, if you’re making them for a big Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation party more ingredients will be needed. If you’re only making an afternoon snack with the kids, you can certainly get by on less. We’ll leave the shopping decisions up to you.
Let’s break down how this ends up looking like a rosary:
Crucifix = The watermelon will be cut to look like a crucifix
Our Father bead = Bananas will be peeled and sliced for the Our Father beads
Hail Mary bead = Grapes are the perfect shape for this bead, just wash them
Glory Be bead = Again, strawberries are the perfect shape for this bead, just wash them
You can absolutely have fun with this one and mix up the fruit used to put your own spin on things. You can also do this with meat, cheese, or anything else that you want to put on a skewer. The sky is the limit, let your imagination take control!
