Nope, the title was not an error. We may soon have a patron saint of the Catholic Church who was also a samurai. How awesome is that?! We thought the same thing when we read about it this week.
In January, Pope Francis approved the beatification of Takayama Ukon, also known as Dom Justo Takayama. Takayama was a Japanese Catholic convert who spread the word of God during the late 1500’s. He died a martyr, leading to being considered for sainthood.
